Boracay Island

One of the most famous tourist destinations in the Philippines is Boracay Island. It has become irresistible to tourist and locals alike because of its white, talcum-fine beach, balmy weather, and warm, crystalline waters.

One of the best things about Boracay is its undeniably easy atmosphere; it relaxes every visitor. In fact it is so relaxed that walking barefoot in the island is considered a rule more than an exception. Even the different clubs in the island are using the beach as their dance floor.

This tiny, butterfly-shaped island is at the Western Visayas island-group, Region 6 of the Philippines, along with the western part of the province of Negros, the island of Panay, and many smaller islands. The westernmost island in Western Visayas, Boracay borders the provinces of Mindoro to the northwest and Romblon to the north.

In Boracay, you can spend your days relaxing and getting a massage at the beach; nights on the other hand are meant for the night owls who love to party.

There are many things to do while staying at Boracay. There are many leisure activities that would suit anyone’s needs. Aside from the usual “beach bumming” and party hopping there are other activities to satisfy your hunger for adventure. Many establishments provide boating and wind surfing equipment. They also offer scuba diving, a little bit of trekking, a little bit of mountain biking, and even a little bit of golf. On the eastern side of the island is Bulabog Beach. It is a board sailor’s paradise that draws hundreds of enthusiasts from all over the world. In fact, Bulabog beach is the site for the International Funboard Cup. Aside from that, Boracay also hosts the annual Paraw Regatta, an international sailboat race that makes use of the native outrigger. There are also many dive sites that cater to both beginners and professionals alike.

Tourists needn’t feel overwhelmed about language barrier because aside from Tagalog/Filipino and other local dialects, English is widely spoken in Boracay.

The months of March to June are the summer months in Boracay, with temperatures ranging from 28 to 38 degrees Celsius. November to February is spent with pleasant winds, cool nights, and occasional rain showers. July to October is the wettest months.

So whenever you feel like you need to have a vacation. Get away, relax and enjoy the wonderful white beaches of Boracay.
